Easy Breeder Box

(Item No.:36317)

Product details

The Easy Breeder Box is the perfect device for successfully incubating reptile eggs from geckos, adders, bearded dragons and other species. The box offers enough space for up to 14 eggs. Achieve the best egg incubation results using the S.I.M. method (suspension incubation method). Eggs are often exposed to excess water when buried in a moist substrate, which can lead to them going mouldy or even “drowning.”On the other hand, not enough moisture can result in the eggs drying out. In the S.I.M method, reptile eggs are incubated above the vermiculite substrate in special trays which are permeable to air from all sides, and this in turn facilitates an almost 100 % gas exchange with the egg membrane. The air humidity, which remains constant and is released to the eggs in the lower area of the Easy Breeder Box via the moist vermiculite, ensures a constant and stable environment for the eggs. Due to improved oxygen absorption in the Easy Breeder Box the eggs can develop faster and better, which can lead to a shorter incubation time. Tests have shown that eggs which have been incubated in the Easy Breeder Box usually hatch earlier in direct comparison to eggs incubated at the same temperature which were embedded in vermiculite. The special structure of the egg recesses guarantees that the eggs are kept in a stable position, and prevents them from rolling around when the grid is lifted to refill the water, which can prove disastrous. The Easy Breeder Box is completely transparent so that the eggs can be observed at all times.
Hint: If the Easy Breeder Box is used in an incubator with circulated air
(i.e. the HOBBY Easy Breeder) we recommend additionally ventilating the box with some small holes in the cover for the best possible result.
